Journey No. 2 is an original abstract oil painting on canvas melding the lines between abstract, realism, impressionism and expressionism. It is a landscape of striped mountains merging into ultramarine blue skies freshly painted in an ‘alla prima’ style, meaning painted and finished while the painting is wet.

This is a rectangular mid-size (30 x 42 inches) oil painting on a stretched canvas titled “Journey No. 2.” Canvas is stretched on wooden strips and is ready for framing or to be displayed as is. It is a colorful mixture of warm and cool tones with semi-abstract and landscape elements. This painting is signed ‘cherres’ in the back.
Original paintings: I carefully hand stretch my own unprimed canvases to ensure they will not buckle or wrinkle in the frame. I also choose a higher grade canvas than the pre-stretched store bought ones. I then prime or gesso and lightly sand them; this is a process I repeat three times.
