In Focus: Horizons No. 50

Horizons No. 50 is one of my favorites of the series, I achieved everything I could ask myself about what a painting means. First at all this is the longest series I have made so far and still going, second this is the evolution of many years painting in oils and third this is me honoring our land, the place where we live, mother nature. And to honor the grandiosity of nature I made many of these paintings as big as I could, some things need to be big to be better appreciated, they carry a different feel, a different atmosphere, one seems to interact better with it, kind of sacred. To perceive all this you have to experience it in person.
Horizons explores imagined, fantastical scenes. In this body of work, I challenge reality, questioning the hows and whys using art as a means of escape from everyday life. Horizons is one of my longest-running series to date, and it continues to evolve with each new piece.
